Kohima, Oct. 25 (EMN): The combat sports festival is all set to begin on Thursday, October 25 at the Kohima local ground (Khuochiezie).
The inaugural function of the three-day event will be graced by Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, president of Naga Peoples’ Front and MLA as the chief guest at 9.30 am, while CL John, MLA, will be the guest of honour for the valedictory function on Oct. 28.
Day-one will feature Naga wrestling for lightweight and heavyweight categories, while day-two will feature the third series of junior wrestling championship and King of the Ring Championship. On day-three, the Yoddha Fighting Championship will be held from 5 pm onwards.
A total of 85 wrestlers, including 12 heavyweights, 58 lightweights and 15 for junior category will be taking part in the Naga wrestling championship.
Some of the prominent wrestlers who will be taking part in the championship are Pfusato Tetseo, Menuosetuo Yiese, Dzieselatuo Kerestü, Venuzo Dawhuo, Vetazo Veswüh, Petekolie Nipu, Vekuto Soho, Rovilhulie Pier.
The three-day event is being organised by 3E Nagaland (Elite Entertainment Enterprise).
The inaugural programme will commence with invocation pronounced by Khrisezituo Zhale, assistant pastor, Christian Revival Church, Rüsoma, while Kethosituo Elvis Mepfhüo, managing director 3E Nagaland will deliver the keynote address. A special song will be presented by Vikani Awomi.
