DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has extended Aoleang, Monyu and Kundaglün greetings to the Konyak, Phom and Chang communities, respectively.

“Happy Aoleang to our brothers and sisters from the Konyak community. May our harvest be bountiful and the new year bring blessings of good health and fruitfulness in all our endeavours,” the chief minister wrote on X.

In his greetings to the Phom community on the occasion of Monyu, Rio wrote, “May the essence of the festival, which is love, sharing and friendship foster oneness and strengthen relationships.”

“I extend warm greetings to the Chang community on the occasion of Kundaglün; a festival commemorating the construction of field huts. May the Almighty bless the works of our hands and make us fruitful in all our endeavours,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang also extended Aoleang and Mongnyu greetings to the Konyak and Phom communities, respectively.

The deputy CM said Aoleang and Mongnyu, the spring festivals of the Konyak and Phom tribes, play an important role in the social and spiritual life of both the communities as they are celebrated to invoke God’s blessings, foster bonds of fraternity, love, peace and promote cultural heritage.
