CM Rio condoles demise of MLA Kevipodi Sophie’s father
DIMAPUR — Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has condoled the demise of Zelul Sophie, the father of Kevipodi Sophie, MLA, 14 Southern Angami-I Assembly Constituency, who passed away in Kohima on May 21.
In a condolence note, Rio said that, during the pre-independence era in the 1940s, Zelul worked under the Government of British India as an ‘ardali’ and later served as a deacon at Jakhama Baptist Church.
‘He lived a content life and left an impression in the hearts of his near and dear ones and also of those he knew. He was a man of few words who was always firm in his decisions. He was a loving and caring father who nurtured his children to be kind and honest,’ Rio said.
Furthermore, he stated that his death has left a void in the family and Jakhama village, which will be difficult to fill.
Extending his deepest condolences to the bereaved family, Rio prayed for solace and courage to bear their irreparable loss. He also prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
