Classic Cup: Hat-trick hero Petevizo sends Kohima Eagle SC into semis

Kohima, Nov. 14 (EMN): Petevizo Kezieo scored a hat-trick as Kohima Eagle’s Sporting Club crushed Tyrants FC 7-0 in the second quarterfinal match and entered the semifinals of the ongoing 23rd Classic Cup at the Kohima local ground on Tuesday.
With the win, Kohima Eagle’s SC set up a clash against Barak FC in the first semifinal match of the tournament on Nov. 17.
In a goal fest, Petevizo’s hat-trick and Menguzelie’s brace helped Kohima Eagle’s Sporting Club to register an easy win over Tyrants in the second quarterfinal match.
During the match, Kohima Eagle’s SC started brightly and opened the scoring through Punuru Neinu in the 4th minute to give the deserving lead.
Kohima Eagle’s SC striker Petevizo breached the defensive line and found the back of the net in the 9th minute to double the lead, and he went on to score his second and third goal for Kohima Eagle’s in the 13th minute.
Tyrants failed to deal with the pace of Kohima Eagle’s side as Menguzelie piled up more misery by scoring another goal in the 33rd minute when his teammate latches a cross into his path and fired home the fourth goal for Kohima Eagle’s to end the first half with 4-1.
In the second half, it was all Kohima Eagle’s play as striker Menguzelie doubled his tally in the 51st minute and Petivizo completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute to make it 7-0.
Tyrant’s side lacked the composure and failed to make any attempts as Kohima Eagle’s seized the opportunity to score another goal through Akuo-o in the 66 minute to complete the rout.
Tyrants FC sloppy defense in the first half paid the price as they went four goals down in the first half and failed to regain the momentum.
During the match, Ketozo of Tyrants FC and Keviphretuo of Kohima Eagle’s were cautioned with a yellow card each during the match.
