Dimapur, March 9 (EMN): The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has congratulated the new Government of Nagaland.
A press release from the chairman of the CII North East Council & Managing Director Keventer Agro Ltd, Mayank Jalan, said CII would like to work as a close partner of the new team of Nagaland in taking the hilly state to fast growth and development.
“Our best wishes go to the new team. CII is confident that in the new dispensation, the State will find a Government which is development driven and responsive to the aspirations of the people, especially the young,” the press release stated.
“We would like to work hand in hand with the new state government for overall growth and development of the State,” Jalan, said.
Through their office branch in Kohima, the chairman said CII would like to work in infrastructure, food processing, agriculture, entrepreneurship development and healthcare, the sectors which merit immediate attention.
Infrastructure development should be the major thrust area of the new government, Jalan said, adding that improving connectivity within the state and also with the rest of the country is the urgent need. “This will help promote tourism,” he added.
The other priority areas for the new government should also include creating enabling environment for investments, education, skill development, healthcare and women’s empowerment, he said.
