Dimapur, April 12 (EMN): Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) dedicated a new building to the Department of Laboratory Sciences which was inaugurated by Dr. Joshua Sunil Gokavi, Executive Director of Emmanuel Hospital Association on April 12 in the presence of Dr. Sedevi Angami, Director of CIHSR; Dr.Clement Momin, Medical Superintendent and the staff of CIHSR.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Dr.Gokavi mentioned on the importance of quality laboratory tests, its importance in the growth of health sector specially in a hospital set up and its financial impact. Dr.Sedevi elaborated on the existing quality of the current laboratory and the vision for accreditation in the near future. He mentioned on the External Quality Assessment programmes which the Department participates with Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore for Biochemistry and hormonal assays. He also said the department also participates with Indian Association of Medical Microbiologist, Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi for External Quality Assessment programme in the field of Clinical Microbiology.
K Microbiologist AHS, Meme Panmei, introduced the department by mentioning various specialties and facilities of Biochemistry department.
