Chumoukedima inter-ward tournament underway

Dimapur, March 7 (EMN): The 5th Chumoukedima inter-ward tournament on the theme “one team, one dream” was kicked-off by Jacob Zhimomi, minister for PHED, at Chumoukedima local ground on Monday.

The seven-day tournament is organised by Chumoukedima Town Youth organisation (CTYO) in collaboration with Chumoukedima Town Council (CTC).

Speaking during the programme, Zhimomi encouraged the players to play with passion and conviction to make sports their profession.

He asked the youths to participate in various disciplines and assured that the state government is dedicated and committed and they have been discussing how to push the young players into the national arena.

However, if you do not prepare well you will not be qualified because the competition is very high, he added.

The chairman of Chumoukedima village council, Razouvituo Chatsu also asked the players to bring better understanding, unity and strengthen friendship through the tournament.

President of CTYO, Hovise Naleo delivered the welcome address. Special performances by Musik-A Alobo Naga School of Music and cultural troupe from Thilixu enthralled the audience.
