Dimapur, Nov 15 (EMN): Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, Phek division, in collaboration with Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) held a consumer awareness programme on the theme “Rights and responsibilities” at Chozuba town on November 14.
Japheth Woch, ADC Chozuba and the chief guest, elaborated that consumers should know their rights and responsibilities especially in dealing with the traders and service providers in this technological age. He also encouraged the consumers to exercise their rights in the right way and not be misused.
Resource person of the seminar PDLSA panel lawyer and advocate, Shekhotso Rokha, spoke on the theme ‘Rights and responsibilities of consumers.’ He has explained in detail on ‘Who is a consumer?’ and ‘What should a consumer do when he or she is cheated by the traders or services providers?’ He also enlightened about the ways and remedies as to how a consumer should complain against such malpractices by the traders or service providers.
The seminar was attended by students, NGOs, GBs, business inion, teachers and other invitees of Chozuba town. Visedenuo Sothu chaired the function and the objective of the seminar was delivered by Shiekhozo, Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, Phek.
The programme ended with concluding remarks delivered by Nikesono of LM&CP, Phek.
