Chief Secretary’s residential conference hall inaugurated
DIMAPUR — Chief Secretary of Nagaland, J Alam, inaugurated the Chief Secretary’s Residential Conference Hall at the Chief Secretary’s Residential Complex in Kohima on June 10.
Addressing the gathering, Alam stated that the new conference hall was designed to cater to the needs of the government and development for its citizens, according to a DIPR report. He expressed hope that the conference hall would serve and provide convenience to the many more chief secretaries who will be leading the state.
Assistant Chief Engineer (CAWD), Sungtiba Amer, stated in his technical report that the building was conceptualised during the period of 2023–24, incorporating all necessary requirements for the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall.
The project commenced on November 20, 2023, and was completed on May 22, 2024. He added that the RCC building has a sloped roof structure housing a conference hall and one pantry, covering a plinth area of 840.72 square feet.
Commissioner Nagaland, Sushil Kumar Patel, who chaired the programme, stated that the conference hall was the vision of the chief secretary.
Earlier, J Alam unveiled the inaugural plaque, and the senior pastor of Faith Harvest Church, Kohima, Shan Kikon, dedicated the conference hall.
