Challenges of starting polytechnic college discussed in Peren DPDB meeting
DIMAPUR — The Peren District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at DC’s Conference Hall, Peren under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman DPDB Peren, TR Zeliang on Monday.
On the agenda of shifting Govt. College Peren, Vice Principal, Albert briefed the members on the basic infrastructure that is presently in place and further informed that the road connecting the college from Peren SP office has been cut off due to a landslide, which needs major re-cutting.
Regarding the agenda on starting Polytechnic College, Peren, Lecturer, Theja highlighted the infrastructure status as well as some of the multiple challenges faced, which includes-proper road connectivity, electricity, demarcation of boundaries, water connectivity, transportation, and health care. In regard to the demarcation of boundary and water connectivity, the chairman asked the college to write an application to LRSO and EE PHED so that necessary work can be carried out.
On the issue of land patta, the timeline for construction by land allottees and the new proposal of allotment for Peren HQ SDO , Kelevituo Nisa informed that a circular has already been issued to all the HODs to pay premium through treasury challan for the issue of land patta book of respective departments on or before April 30.
In regard to this, the DC requested all the allottees to start their construction within this year itself, failing which their land patta would be canceled. Further, TR Zeliang asked the HODS to obtain proper land patta, proper measurement, and proper demarcation and also take allotment orders to avoid encroachment.
Addl. SP Peren, R Tochumong Chang, briefed on the urgent need to construct SDPO office and residence at Jalukie, for which the chairman entrusted him to do the necessary assessment first.
At the meeting, the house also approved the application for grant-in-aid for the renovation of Haisuiwang School, Kamdi.
Other agenda discussed in the meeting were road alignment from Peren town to Headquarters, Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme, and a proposal submitted by Peren town.
During the meeting, DIC Peren, General Manager, K Francis Hekavi presented the departmental activities and programmes.
TR Zeliang in his address expressed his willingness to work with the HODs, leaders, and the public for the welfare of the district. Stating that DPDB is the only platform where the members can coordinate with each other and share their views and come to a logical conclusion, he encouraged the members to be regular in attending the DPDB meeting. He also sought cooperation from all the departments with the same enthusiasm as before in order to take the district ahead with progress and development.
Further, TR Zeliang requested them to attend their offices sincerely and also advised the departments implementing the centrally- sponsored schemes as well as state-sponsored schemes to highlight the clear picture of their ongoing and upcoming projects in the meeting with a view to keep each other updated.
