Chakhesang Region of NNC/FGN reaffirms support for plebiscite
DIMAPUR — The Chakhesang Region, NNC/FGN (Naga National Council/Federal Government of Nagaland), Naga Army, and NNC representatives held a meeting on November 9, during which the region resolved to support and remain committed to the declaration of independence of August 14, 1947 and the plebiscite of May 16, 1951.
“The Chakhesang Region of NNC/FGN unanimously resolved to support the NNC/FGN headed under the abled leadership of His Excellency the Kedahge, Ino Zhopra Vero and Ino Hekhuvi Achumi, Kedallo,” stated a press release issued by the group.
Stating that the Chakhesang Region stands united and committed to strengthening the NNC/FGN and the legitimacy of the leadership and the government, “which was constituted as per the laid-down rules of the Yehzabo of Nagaland,” it added that the resolution has been adopted and declared to augment and strengthen the decision of the president and vice president of the NNC, Senka Ao and Bendang Sangtam, respectively.
