Christian Forum Dimapur (CFD) has decided to organise a prayer rally on February 19 at Naga Shopping Arcade (Super Market) area in Dimapur at 1 pm.
The decision to this effect was taken during its executive board meeting held on February 10 at South Town Restaurant, Dimapur. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss about the atrocities meted out to the minority religious groups especially the Christians and to pray for the clean, fair and free assembly election in the region and particularly for Nagaland.
An update from CDF secretary, Rev. Fr. CP Anto, and the chairman, Rev. Moses Murry, stated that the members have assessed the alarming increase of persecution against minority religious groups in the country.
It stated that Rev. Moses Murry, in his welcome note, stressed on the importance of creating mass awareness on the issue of persecution against Christians and pray for the free and fair election, while Rev. Dr. Paphino, advisor of Christian Forum Dimapur and vice president of Joint Christian Forum, has highlighted the main purpose of the meeting.
Meanwhile, CDF has requested all the churches in Dimapur and like-minded religious institutions and organisations to join in the prayer rally. The members would pray for the persecuted minority religious groups particularly the Christians in the mainland India and parts of Northeast India. It would also pray for the nation and its leaders, constitutional heads and its judiciary, clean, fair and free assembly election, all the political parties and the candidates etc.
The members also discussed to pray for the national workers and to create common platform for all the groups to come together to pray and seek God’s blessings.
Besides, the members also proposed to help other districts of Nagaland to start autonomous Christian Forums to strengthen unity and spiritual growth of the various communities.
