CEO office launches awareness video for PwD

In pursuance to fulfill the commitment of ‘No voter to be left behind,’ a Dreamz Unlimited video on voters’ awareness and video for facilitation of hearing impaired voters and motivational speech video by the state persons with disabilities (PwD) Icon, Ashe Kiba, was launched on Tuesday in the office chamber of Nagaland chief electoral officer (CEO).

The video, scripted and directed by Dreamz Unlimited on behalf of the CEO, was also launched formally on Tuesday. It had been uploaded a few days back for public viewing and has already reached 4.7 lakh viewers. The same could be seen at https://www.youtube.com/@dreamzunlimited7714 and https://www.youtube.com/c/CEONagaland, stated an update from CEO’s office.

It added that the launch of challenge for young voters to express their views also took place.

Nagaland CEO, V Shashank Shekhar mentioned that the young people are very intelligent and knowledgeable and added that the challenge would give them an opportunity to express themselves on the theme “My opinion of elections in Nagaland.”

The programme was attended by the state PwD Icon and other senior officers of the department and chaired by Ruokuovituo Khezhie, additional chief electoral officer.

Brief description of the videos was given by Kikumsungla Jamir, deputy secretary and OSD to CEO. Meanwhile, the CEO gave a brief remark and launched the video officially. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Alila Chang, deputy chief electoral officer.

CEO notifies public

In a public notice, the office of the CEO informed that the voter information slip would not be allowed as proof of identity of voters, although it is prepared and issued to electors to facilitate voters in knowing the serial number of electoral roll in their polling station, date of poll, time etc.

It stated that all electors, who have been issued electors photo identity card (EPIC), should produce the EPIC for their identification at the polling station before casting their votes. Those electors who are not able to produce the EPIC should produce one of the following alternative photo identity documents for establishing their identity.

The document to be produced included Aadhaar card; MNREGA job card; Passbooks with photograph issued by bank/ post office; Health insurance smart card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour; driving license; PAN card; Smart card issued by RGI under NPR; Indian passport; Pension document with photograph; Service identity cards with photograph issued to employees by central/ state government, PSUs/ Public limited companies; Official identity cards issued to MPs/ MLAs/ MLCs; and Unique disability ID (UDID) card issued by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, government of India.
