Ceasefire extension with NSCN (K) – Khango

KOHIMA — The ceasefire agreement was signed in New Delhi with Piyush Goyal, Additional Secretary, MHA representing GoI; and NSCN (K) – Khango group represented by Imyapangba Ao, Supervisor, CFSB NSCN/K-Khango and Akato Yeptho, Member, CFSB NSCN/K-Khango.

“Government of India and National Socialist Council of Nagaland/K-Khango (NSCN/K-Khango), Nagaland, have mutually decided to extend the ceasefire agreement with effect from April 18, 2023 for a period of one year ie, till April 17, 2024 to bring about a lasting peace in the state of Nagaland with the involvement of Naga people,” the agreement read.

It stated that the ceasefire will be subject to adherence to the Ceasefire Ground Rules (CGR) mutually agreed and signed by the two sides, adding that the CGR will be subjected to mutual review and amendment with the involvement of both the parties.

It may be mentioned that the last agreement was signed on April 19, 2022 for a period of one year starting from April 28, 2022 till April 27, 2023.
