KOHIMA — Elaborating that about 60 service associations are in the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees Association (CANSSEA), Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, commissioner and secretary of Transport and director of Census Operations, on Friday asked the members to serve the people with sincerity.

He stated this during the triennial session-cum-induction of new office bearers of CANSSEA held at Hotel Japfu in Kohima. Recalling his past experience as a former president of CANSSEA, he stressed the need to do things meticulously with proper analysis.

Describing CANSSEA members as cream of the society with wisdom and maturity, Dr. Chusi reminded that the society really looked up to them as the guiding force of the government.

Highlighting the vital role of CANSSEA, he urged the members to invoke God’s wisdom and work with sincerity to serve the people. Asserting that the members are all responsible for what is going on in the state, he asked them to be the change first with sincerity and dedication to guide the government and make policy.

He also observed that CANSSEA should not be a welfare organisation alone but should fight for rights, be a guiding force and be responsible for what the government wants the employees to work on.

Chusi further also asked the employees to retrospect and introspect on what they have contributed and what they could contribute to the society.

Earlier, delivering the presidential address, Dr. Ilang highlighted the various initiatives and activities undertaken by CANSSEA for the welfare of the members such as representation for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) induction issues, relaxation of qualifying years for promotions, timely dispensation of department promotion committee (DPC) and clearance of DPC on anticipated vacancies among others.

Report was presented by the general secretary, Dr. Hovithal Sothu, while the audit committee report was presented by Zubemo Tsanglao, convenor.

The programme was led by Chubayanger, vice president of CANSSEA, and the invocation prayer was said by Zajamo Odyuo, associate pastor of City Church, Kohima.

Meanwhile, a new team of CANSSEA was announced by M Ben Yanthan, director of Agriculture and convenor of the search committee. The new team would be led by Zubemo Tsanglao.
