Mokokchung, Oct. 2 (EMN): Members of the Mokokchung unit of the Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) visited Sumi Settsu village in Zunheboto district some 20 kilometres away from Mokokchung town on October 2, and gifted people there with blankets.
Bharat Vikas Parishad is an all-India non-political, socio-cultural voluntary organization. It is dedicated to the development and growth of the country in all fields of human endeavour—cultural, social, academic, moral, national and spiritual—by promoting a sense of patriotism, national unity and integration.

Its main mission is to organise the elite, intellectuals and affluent citizens, motivating them to serve the poor, disabled, and illiterate not as an act of charity but in the true spirit of the cultural traditions of service as a duty.

During the visit, the members of the BVP had a fellowship with the elderly there and distributed blankets to them. This was stated in a press release the organisation issued to the media.
