The Nagaland boxing team has won 3 gold , 2 silver and 4 bronze medals at the National Level North East sports competition held at Imphal from March 2 to 7.
The boxing team was lead by coach K. K. Nagi and Tsungchetrenla Tzudir, both from Department of Youth Resources and Sports with Additional Director Neilahoulie as chef – de – mission. The team was sponsored by Department of Youth Resources and Sports.
The Director Anungla Imti has been lauded for playing an inspiring role for the State team.
The boxers who won medals are Jagatta – 66 kg – Gold, Deepak Sunwar – 80 kg – Gold, Imlichuba – 80 +kg – Gold, Gaurav Rai – 48 kg – Silver, Abel – 75 kg – Silver, Asamlungbe Nkie 52 kg – Bronze, Arenlong Imsong – 54 kg – Bronze, Vizosalie and Pawan – 70 kg – Bronze.
