BJP units commemorate achievement of Modi 2.0

Dimapur, June 27 (EMN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland unit held its 3rd virtual rally for state mahila and ST morchas to commemorate one-year of Modi 2.0 government at BJP headquarters, Kohima, with the vice president of national BJP mahila morcha, A Sharda Devi, addressing the gathering through video conferencing.

In her address, Devi encouraged the state mahila morcha to propagate all the schemes of the central government formulated during the past one year of Modi 2.0 government. She had highlighted various welfare schemes for women and farmers.

She also encouraged the state BJP mahila leaders to work undeterred for the welfare of the people including distribution of face cover and sanitiser even in this time of Covid-19 pandemic. He urged the mahila leaders to initiate making face covers for free distribution among the people.

Stating that agricultural activities would have to be continued following all protocols, Devi asked them to highlight the Kishan Samman Nidhi scheme for the welfare of women farmers. She further asked them to be a bridge between the government and the common people.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP Nagaland mahila morcha Phangnon Konyak said the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lived up to its promises in delivering good governance basing on its slogan “Sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas.”

She also stated that to stabilise the Indian economy alongside safeguarding the interests of the needy and to make 1.3 billion Indians economically self reliant, the plan for Atmanirbhar Bharat has been laid.

“A social and economic comprehensive package of INR 20 lakh crore for the benefit of the whole spectrum of society, including women has been launched,” she said, while highlighting Women Jan Dhan account holders getting INR 500 each for three months, increase of MNREGA wage, financial help of INR 1000 for poor, needy senior citizens, poor widows, limit of collateral free lending to be increased from INR 10 to 20 lakh for women SHGs.

She also stated that migrant labourers, who are not covered under National Food Security Act or without ration cards, were delivered food grains for May and June free of cost this year.

As the world is expected to have a different outlook post Covid-19, she stated that it is an opportune time for India to identify its own manufacturing capabilities and use this crisis to scale up and become a manufacturing hub. She said that with the active support of the state president, the mahila morcha started the ‘Mask for all’ campaign in March this year districted more than 15,000 stitched masks.

Asserting that the BJP government is committed to the welfare of the villagers, poor, farmers, dalits and the deprived, she said maximum projects of both the centre and state are being done for those sectors. She further highlighted some of the activities carried out by the state BJP ST morcha during this pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Zunheboto unit of the BJP also commemorated one-year completion of Modi government 2.0 by organising a programme at the district office which was attended by office bearers, morcha leaders, mandal presidents and other senior party workers.

Speaking at the occasion, the district president Shikuto Sema highlighted several programmes initiated and implemented by the BJP government for the welfare of the people and farmers in particular. He also spoke on how Modi government has been actively fighting to curb the spread of Covid-19.

President of kisan morcha Yekuto Zhimo highlighted on how BJP government is giving full support to the farmers by means of different schemes such as Mudra loan, bank loan to the needy farmers and a cash deposit to the beneficiaries of Ujala Yojana scheme etc. as a relief to the needy widows and farmers. He also thanked the president of BJP Nagaland Temjen Imna Along for providing kharif crops to all the district kisan units.

A press release issued by the district general secretary Kiyeyi Aye stated that BJP Zunheboto has played an important role in combating the spread of Covid-19 in the district by fully involving with the district task force headed by DC Zunheboto.

The release stated that party members had visited Covid-19 hospital and extended help to the patients and to the doctors and nurses on duty.

It also stated that the Yuva president with his members distributed food items to several poor families and raised fund towards the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. The party members also thanked the deputy chief minister, Y Patton, for generously sponsoring the event.

The party also paid homage to the departed souls of officers and soldiers, who sacrificed their lives for the country at Galwan valley in eastern Ladakh. President of ST morcha Vikishe Awomi chaired the programme and concluded with a mass prayer.
