BJP to issue party tickets for ULB elections
KOHIMA — The Nagaland unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will give away party tickets to its candidates for upcoming urban local bodies (ULB) elections on June 10 at the respective district, mandal and ward.
On June 8, Benjamin Yepthomi, state BJP president, informed karyakartas that the party has decided to field party candidates for the 2024 municipal and town council elections. He informed that the party would nominate candidates in all wards of municipal and town councils that are within the 12 assembly constituencies where the BJP currently has sitting MLAs.
Yepthomi stated that the BJP and the NDPP, through mutual understanding, would work to accommodate seats for each other taking winnability of the candidate into account wherever possible.
On June 8, NDPP officially handed over party tickets to various candidates for the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) and the Chiephobozou Town Council (CTC) elections scheduled on June 26.
On the same day, Congress handed over their party ticket to Imsanger Jamir for KMC election.
