Dimapur, Dec. 8 (EMN): The team of leaders from the Nagaland unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is said to have met with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh during his arrival at Chumukedima in Dimapur on Dec. 7. A press release from the party’s media cell on Friday informed that they had ‘a cordial interaction’ about various issues pertaining to the state.

The party’s delegation updated Rajnath Singh about the party’s activities in the state and “its need for a state in-charge and a minister in-charge for party affairs” for which “he assured the party to look in to the matter,” the press release stated.

The party stated: ‘While recalling the past visit, the party has reminded him that during his tenure as national BJP president when he visited Chumukedima Nagaland in August 2007, he has said that Nagaland has a special place and status for BJP as Nagaland has given its first government in the Northeast. He told the party delegation that his next visit to the state will be for party affairs.’
