Dimapur, April 24 (EMN): Responding to the call of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to contribute to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) to combat Covid-19 pandemic in India, the BJP Mokokchung district covid-19 control centre has contributed INR 28,400 by mobilising a fund drive among the party officials, workers, mandals and morchas.
Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic started in the country, the BJP Mokokchung district had established control centres in the district and mandal levels to coordinate with the different government agencies so as to contain the spread of the disease in the district, Mokokchung BJP media and IT cell stated.
Meanwhile, president of BJP Mokokchung Imolemba Jamir has appreciated the generosity and understanding of the party workers for their contribution towards the PM CARES Fund. He stated that that the amount, however big or small, is a contribution to the nation to fight the Covid-19.
He has encouraged every citizen of the country – irrespective of political parties, caste, creed, religion or region – to stand together behind the government in combating the spread of the virus in the society. He also urged upon all to contribute towards the PM CARES Fund so that the central government could utilise the money in combating the disease more efficiently.
The district president has also appreciated the Kisan Cell, BJP Mokokchung district, for distributing drinking water to the residents of five colonies in Mokokchung town.
Jamir stated that such yeomen services by the Kisan Cell in distributing drinking water, when water scarcity was causing many hardships to the people, had mitigated the hardships of the people to some extent.
Convener of BJP, Mokokchung district Covid-19 control centre, Nukshi I Ozukum has also appreciated all the donors to the PM CARES Fund. Besides, he also appreciated BJP Mokokchung district president for his proactive support during the whole Covid-19 coordination works. He also thanked the morchas for undertaking the different humanitarian works as well as to the mandals for organising relief works in their own constituencies. He further thanked the volunteers for rendering their services while distributing the relief materials to the needy people during the first phase of the Covid-19 relief works.
