Dimapur, June 9 (EMN): Ahead of E3 2021, DICE and EA have announced the next entry in the Battlefield franchise – Battlefield 2042, coming to PCs and consoles on October 22.

Publisher EA shared an action-packed trailer today showing off what players can expect from the newest Battlefield game.

The trailer starts off with pretty much standard action scenes albeit a lot of people on wingsuits, however, three minutes into the trailer, EA shows us something that will put a smile on any Battlefield fan.

We get to see two F-35 fighter jets chasing each other in a cinematic dogfight sequence. But unlike a typical dogfight, the lead aircraft pilot decides to pull the nose of his jet up, ejects out of the aircraft and takes out the other aircraft with what appears to be a Carl Gustaf rocket launcher. Impressively, he manages to then get back inside the aircraft and fly off as if nothing happened.

This particular scene is quite interesting as it pays homage to a classic mid-flight “RendeZook” move made popular by Stun_gravy. The “RendeZook” is a blend of two words, rendezvous and Zook, first coined by Stun_gravy and the daring feat has since then been called as such.

And that is what DICE wants players to expect from the new Battlefield game. Battlefield developers wants to get back to the game’s sandbox roots. That is why there is no battle royale mode and will focus heavily on a different yet familiar multiplayer experience including bringing back two fan-favourite modes, Conquest and Breakthrough.
