DIMAPUR — Minister of Housing and Mechanical Engineering, P Beshangmongba Chang, has called upon the Chang community to shun ‘ism and jealousy,’ which according to him are the root cause of disunity in the society.
He stated this at the 60th general conference of the Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS) held at Tuensang town hall on April 4 as the special guest. While pointing out that many educated youth Nagas are still dependent on their parents, Beshangmongba encouraged the youth to undergo skills training and strive for self-sustenance, a DIPR report stated.
The minister appreciated Chang Wedoshi Setshang for their valuable contribution to the Chang community in education sector by setting up ‘Dolenweasen,’ where financial aid is given to the poor students and also for organising the Loyem Memorial Trophy in order to provide opportunity to the youth of the district in field of sports.
The welcome address was delivered by CWS president, C Pongsu, and short speeches were delivered by ADC of Tuensang, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, and CKS president, Nusanglemba Chang.
The programme was chaired by CWS general secretary, Ebou Naset.
