DIMAPUR, JULY 16: The inaugural programme of ‘Mon District Open Badminton Championship-cum-Selection’ was held on July 15 with Advisor DUDA, N Thongwang as the chief guest, according to a press release issued to the media on Saturday.
N Thongwang in his address reminded the participants that “there is no easy formula to succeed in sports but through long term of dedication and determination.” Only through such focus the people of Mon District can build a career in the field of sports, he said.Thongwang also stressed that the initiative should not be confined within the district, but extend beyond to the national and international levels.
An exhibition match was played between VIPs and MDBA where the chief guest took part along with DC Mon, W. Honje Konyak and Rev. Methjin, Pastor Sangtam Baptist Church Mon.
