Autumn Amateur Badminton Tournament concludes in Chekiye
DIMAPUR — The second Autumn Amateur Badminton Tournament, organised by the Resilient Shuttlers in memory of late Vilazu Khro and late Atoka Tsuqu, was held at Achiku Badminton Stadium, Chekiye village, Dimapur, on October 20.
The tournament featured two categories – men’s doubles (amateur) and veterans 40+ – with a total of 39 teams from Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Niuland, Jalukie and Medziphema, an update stated.
The winners in both categories were awarded cash prizes of INR 12,000 and INR 8,000 for the champions and runners-up, respectively
The semi finalists in both categories also received INR 2,000 each.
Earlier, the tournament commenced with a word of prayer, followed by a short memorial service in remembrance of the two ‘Resilient’ brothers – Vilazu Khro and Atoka Tsuqu.
