Dimapur, Jan 30: With the initiative of ATMA Zunheboto block, a field day on weed management was conducted by Chubatsur Jamir, BTM Zunheboto block at Asukho village on January 23.
She highlighted the farmers about the disadvantages of weeds in cultivated area, its adverse effect on crops and its control measures-prevention, cultural, mechanical and biological methods. Altogether 11 farmers participated in the programme.
In a related programme, ATMA Tseminyu conducted a demonstration on potato cultivation on January 27 at Tesophenyu under Chunlikha Block, with Kevineituo Bier, ATM, ATMA Tseminyu, as the resource person.
The resource person demonstrated on the package of practices on potato cultivation.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Vibeilie Keretsu, BTM, ATMA Tseminyu, while the invocation was said by Chentsenga Chung and the vote of thanks was proposed by Agwalo Mesung.
Altogether 16 farmers attended the programme. Potato seeds were also distributed to them.
