Assam Rifles observes World Heart Day

Dimapur, September 30: 12 Bihar battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a World Heart Day program at Nambol in Bishnupur district on September 29 to strengthen the civil- military bonding and to boost the sportsmen spirit in youth.
As part of the event, a ‘Run for Fun’ was organised wherein large number of contestants from various nearby schools, NCC boys & girls, Kennedy & ABBA Boxing Clubs took part in the event. The event was attended by DSP, Nambol police station, Dr Gambhir of RIMS & officials of 12 Bihar.
At the end of the run, a lecture on Hypertension was organised by Dr Gambhir of RIMS. A free medical camp was also set up by the team of 12 Bihar where people were administered free medical checkup and medicines were distributed free of cost. Prize distribution ceremony was organised in which cash prize & consolation prizes were presented to the winners and the participants.
The troops of 12 BIHAR gave all the administrative support to make the event a success. The event got an over whelming response from the villagers and the efforts were highly appreciated by the villagers and other personalities present during the event.
