Raksha Bandhan celebrations

Meanwhile, on Monday, Assam Rifles celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the students of Assam Rifles Public School, Kohima, on the theme ‘Ek Ped Behan Ke Naam’.

The event featured a tree plantation drive, during which Assam Rifles personnel and students planted saplings at various locations in Kohima and Chakbhama.

The participants also took a solemn oath to protect the trees they planted, similar to the promise of protection that brothers traditionally make to their sisters on Raksha Bandhan.

The day was also marked by a celebration with students from Hereka Vidya Bharti School in Dimapur, where the girl students tied rakhis on the wrists of 200 Assam Rifles soldiers.
