Assam Rifles holds joint security meet

Dimpaur, June 6:In an endeavour to ensure peace and prosperity in the State of Manipur, troops of 2 Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), organised a ‘Joint Security Meet’ at Chandrakhong in Thoubal district of Manipur state on June 5.

The meet was attended by village headmen, women society secretaries, youth club presidents and Ex-Servicemen of 25 villages.

The Assam Rifles Battalion provided this platform to the villagers to discuss the security perspective of the area and to allow the villagers to come up with suggestions to improve synergy between security forces and the local populace.

During the meet, issues pertaining to youth empowerment and welfare of ex-servicemen were also discussed. In the end the attendees appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles in ensuring peace and assured their commitment and assistance in maintaining the same.
