DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles organised a donation drive under the Meri Life initiative for Care and Support (Orphanage) Home, Chungtia, in Mokokchung, on Sunday.
According to a press release, during the event, both the troops and the local civilians were briefed on the initiative and the troops and their families contributed household items, such as clothes, stationery, shoes, and other essential food items, to the home.
The press release informed that a total of 39 children from the orphanage benefited from this donation drive.
Also, as part of the Meri LiFE initiative, on May 25, the Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on “Healthy lifestyle adoption” at Christian Mission Higher Secondary School, Diphupar, to raise awareness about healthy living and its benefits.
The event saw the participation of troops from the Assam Rifles, 14 teachers, and 250 students.
Security meet at Fakim village
Assam Rifles conducted a security meeting at Fakim village, Kiphire district, on Sunday, with the participation of village authorities and 26 civilians.
The agenda of the meeting was to analyse the prevailing security situation in Fakim village and foster cordial relations between Assam Rifles and the villagers.
According to the release, the villagers assured their support to the security forces in maintaining peace, harmony, and pledged to prevent any illegal activities in the area.
