Assam Rifles conducts various activities in Arunachal Pradesh
Villagers and Army officials during the medical camp at Chanu village in Arunachal Pradesh on January 30.

Dimapur, Feb. 2 (EMN): With an aim to provide basic medical facilities to the villagers, Longding Battalion of Assam Rifles under HQ IQAR (North) conducted a medical camp at Chanu village, Longding district, Arunachal Pradesh on Jan. 30.

A press release informed that a total of 465 villagers were screened and administered necessary medicine and advice during the camp.

The battalion also distributed six sewing machines under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme Project 2021-22 at Rusa village in Longding district on Feb. 1. The project was aimed to promote women empowerment, assist local women to support their family and enhance their standard of living.

In Longo village, Tirap district, the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles under HQ IGAR (North) also conducted a medical camp on Jan. 29. 148 villagers benefitted from the camp.

The local population expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for conducting the medical camp, it said.

Meanwhile, the Jairampur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) distributed solar lights under operation Sadbhavna project 2021-22 at Tengmo and Hetlong villages, Changlang district on Jan. 29.

The project for the distribution of solar lights was aimed at improving basic facilities to the remote villages of the region.
