Mokokchung, July 9 (EMN): The Ao Senden Literature Board (ASLB) held its 6th Arangtet exam convocation programme at Ao Senden’s conference hall in Mokokchung town on July 8.
On the occasion, ASLB has honoured 11 individuals, who have contributed towards the growth and development of Ao language and literature through various platforms including Pasmashree T Senka Ao, who was also present at the convocation as the main speaker.
The main speaker highlighted a brief history on the growth and development of Ao language. He said that effort should be made to make Ao language a part of the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
He also urged the graduating students to be contented with just the degree but work and contribute towards the growth of Ao language.
A book “Ao Oshi Tensenyim,” written by T Senka Ao, was also released at the event by Rev. Longri.
The graduates were presented with certificates by Dr. L Temjen Jamir, chairman of ASLB, and by president of Ao Senden.
The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Medemmayang, while the vote of thanks was said by S Wati Ozukum.
Altogether, 93 students graduated in three different courses including postgraduate diploma in Ao, Arangtet certificate course and Arangtet diploma course.
Arangtet is the ASLB’s Ao proficiency exam.
