Artists beautify Mkg with paintings of eminent leaders of the district

Armed with a sole motive to inspire the younger generations of Mokokchung town through art, five childhood friends who share a common love for painting came together to make huge murals depicting five prominent Naga luminaries who were the product of Mokokchung town.
Subtly titled ‘Peoples’ Art’, these self taught budding artists: Tekamedang Imchen, Imotoshi , Chubawati, Chuten Jamir and Imchatsung have been working tirelessly for four days making murals of P .Shilu Ao, Dr. Imkongliba Ao, Dr. T. Ao, Mayangnokcha and Dr. S. C. Jamir at Arkong ward, opposite District Transport Office.
After collecting few thousands from their pocket money the young artists embarked to do something worthwhile during their vacation and decided to put their inherent talents by painting murals of eminent personalities from Mokokchung who were front runners in their respective fields and contributed to the progress of Naga society.
“We decided to paint this great personalities from our town with the hope that the youngsters will learn a lesson and inspired to walk in their footsteps, ” Tekamedong said.
