DIMAPUR — The Department of Art and Culture has issued final reminder to all rural libraries to collect the prescribed format and submit the details of their libraries to the respective district cultural officers on or before November 30.
It informed that failing to comply with the notice would lead to cancellation of their registration as NGO libraries under the department of Art and Culture.
“This is a requirement for recognition of libraries as recommended by the Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation, Kolkata,” the department stated.
It notified that recognition of the libraries would be renewed periodically after proper inspection about satisfactory functioning and services provided by the concerned libraries.
It further informed that all NGO libraries must also be registered in the NGO Darpan system (https://ngodarpan.gov.in/) of the Government of India and also to mention the unique ID generated from the NGO Darpan.
