Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): Assam Rifles Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Unity and Heritage Motorcycle Expedition team was ‘Flagged In’ today at the Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), Kohima on Monday, Nov. 13.
The expedition has been conceptualised by the Assam Rifles to commemorate the 142nd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by Assam Rifles.
Daring riders of the expedition team have covered a distance of 2150 kms on motorcycles across six North Eastern states in India and travelled through Myanmar and Bangladesh.
The team started from Imphal on Nov. 13 at 9:30 am and reached Kohima through Jwalamukhi.
Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) congratulated and praised the efforts of all the team members on successfully completing a major part of the expedition and fostering a bond of brotherhood in all the areas where the expedition ventured.
The expedition team leader Col P K S Gaur thanked for the encouraging words and hoped that the expedition will strengthen brotherhood and unity among the people of NE region.
