Dimapur, June 14 (EMN): Medziphema battalion of the Assam Rifles seized 950 cases of MC Dowel Rum worth INR 28,50,000 being transported in a truck from Dimapur to Kohima on June 11.
A defence release stated that the truck driver identified as Md Islam (28), resident of Karbi Anglong in Assam, and co-driver Md Azijul Khan (22), resident of Bhari Madarsa in Barpeta district, Assam, were apprehended.
It added that both individuals along with the seized liquor and truck were handed over to Medziphema police station for further investigation.
