DIMAPUR — In celebration of World Science Day for peace and development, Assam Rifles organised a function at Government Higher Secondary School, Pungro in Kiphire district, on November 10.
According to a defence release, the event aimed to foster scientific curiosity and promote the role of science in building a peaceful, sustainable future.
Students from various classes participated enthusiastically, showcasing their talents and innovative thinking.
The day’s highlights included a quiz competition on general science, testing students’ knowledge and encouraging a deeper understanding of scientific concepts.
Alongside, a science exhibition was held where students presented a range of innovative ideas and working models on science and technology, demonstrating their creativity and problem-solving skills. “These models represented practical solutions to real-world issues, reflecting the potential of science in addressing challenges and driving development,” the release stated.
The event concluded with a lecture by an Assam Rifles official on the importance of science and technology, its role in national progress, and future career opportunities in scientific fields.
The lecture motivated students to consider science and technology as pathways for personal and professional growth, contributing to a prosperous and peaceful society, the release added.
