AR observes Independence Day in south Arunachal Pradesh

Dimapur, August 15 (EMN): The fervour and zeal of nation celebrating its 71st Independence Day was evident during the myriad events organised by Assam Rifles deployed in Patkai Hills. These events helped in bridging the gap between people of all ages and all walks of life from South Arunachal Pradesh and the civil administration to the Security Forces deployed in the region.
As a run up to Independence Day celebrations Assam Rifles in coordination with DHFL Pramerica Co Ltd launched the “Magic Monsoon” drive in the Changlang district. As part of the celebration programmes, the AR reached out to numerous schools in the district and distributed varieties of products ranging from stationery to umbrellas to students in the area.
Assam Rifles also remembered its martyrs and commemorated there sacrifice during wreath laying ceremony. “Know Your Army” camps were organised in Changlang and Miao displaying the latest weapons, spreading general awareness about Indian Armed Forces with an endeavour to motivate and inspire youths to take up career in Armed Forces.
The cynosure of the events was the mass band displays by the Assam Rifles Bands and young children marching to the beats in Khonsa and Changlang. Interaction between Gaon Buras, Ex–Servicemen and Civil Administration was also organised. The Assam Rifles continuing with its yeoman service in the area also distributed sweets to 2000 students to 12 schools from across the three districts of South Arunachal Pradesh.
