AR leads plantation drive at Zunheboto Government College
DIMAPUR — In a notable environmental effort, the Assam Rifles battalion, Zunheboto, led a plantation drive at Zunheboto Government College (ZGC) on Saturday.
According to a DIPR report, the plantation drive was organised under the banner ‘Ek ped maa ke Naam’ (One tree in the name of mother), witnessed 150 students actively participating alongside the district forest officer and district administration, Zunheboto.

The event resulted in planting of approximately 450 saplings across the college campus with an aim to enhance local greenery and fostering environmental stewardship.
The drive also underscored the commitment of the Assam Rifles and local authorities to ecological conservation and community engagement in sustainable practices.
“By involving the youth and local officials in this symbolic gesture, the initiative highlights the collective vision for a greener future and the importance of collaborative action in addressing environmental challenges,” it stated.
