DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles organised a security and coordination meeting with GBs and chairmen in Thilixu village, Dimapur, on April 8.
A defence release stated that issues pertaining to the current situation prevailing in the area were discussed during the interaction. It added that the villagers were made aware of the various ways to join armed forces and the assistance being provided by battalion to the aspiring candidates.
The participants were also made aware of various civic action programmes being carried out by security forces and suggestions were sought from them regarding new development works for the benefit and uplift of villagers.
The meeting was attended by GBs and chairmen from various villages. It further added that the event successfully covered all aspects on the roles of Assam Rifles and dissemination of required information and leading to better understanding and coordination between the local population and security forces.
In a related programme, Assam Rifles organised a security meeting in Wangti village under Mon district on April 8, wherein issues on prevailing security aspects were discussed with the local population.
The meeting was attended by GBs along with members of village council and village guards. It added that the locals have assured full support and cooperation in maintaining peace in the region.
In another programme, Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) organised a quiz on Indian History for its personnel in Tuensang town. It stated that a total of 167 personnel participated in the quiz.
