Dimapur, March 14 (EMN): With the motto “For you with you,” Phek battalion of the Assam Rifles has distributed study materials in the forms of note books, pencils, sketch pens, erasers, sharpener, wax colours, pencil box and drawing books to the students of Government School in Avangkhu on March 12.
The aim of distribution of stationery items was to inspire the children in remotely located areas, who have limited access to study materials and resources to perform better. A counselling lecture was also conducted for the students and parents on the importance of education in their lives.
A total of 18 students and their parents attended the function in presence of school teachers and villagers.
In a related programme, Phek battalion of the Assam Rifles distributed stationery items including note books, pencils, erasers and sharpeners to the students of Phek Government Higher Secondary School at the battalion headquarters in Phek on March 12.
A total of 13 students attended the event along with their school teachers. A career counselling lecture was also delivered to the students, highlighting the importance of higher secondary education and choosing the right profession as per one’s talent. Students were also motivated to join the armed forces.
The function culminated with the distribution of sweets and informal interaction over refreshments with students and teachers.
