DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles constructed a basketball court at Molvom village, Chümoukedima district, under Operation Sadbhavana. The basketball court, a one of its kind facility in the area, will help Molvom and neighbouring villages in community building, teamwork and fostering healthy lifestyles, a defence release stated.
“It will serve as a hub for people of all ages to come together, stay active and enjoy the spirit of the game,” the release stated.
The project, which handed over to the local populace by Assam Rifles on May 16, was attended by hundreds of villagers in the inaugural ceremony marked by traditional fervor including tribal dance.
The inaugural ceremony also witnessed a friendly basketball match between Molvom and Chümoukedima youth basketball teams.
