Dimapur, May 14 (EMN): Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles (AR) under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organised a yoga session at Wakka village, Longding district, Arunachal Pradesh on May 13.

A defence update informed that the event was organised as part of International Yoga Day 2022 celebrations and aimed at promoting yoga amongst local population. The theme of the event was ‘Yoga for wellness’.

Meanwhile in Nagaland, Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (North) reviewed ongoing women’s skill development training on tailoring, organised by AR in collaboration with SBI-RESTI on May 13.

During the event, women trainees were encouraged and motivated to realise their hidden potential and develop skill-sets for self employment. Importance of skill development, smart work and time management in daily livelihood was also imparted.

A total of 35 women are undergoing tailoring training at RSETI, New Peren, which commenced from May 2.

The battalion also organised a professional development seminar for teachers at ARPS, Jalukie on the same day.

Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis HQ IGAR (North) organised a debate and essay writing  competition at Pungro COB, Kiphire district on May 13.

A total of 26  students (16 boys and 10 girls) of Class X from Mount Horeb Baptist  School Pungro participated in the competition.
