Ao Senden requests Nagaland government to extend total lockdown
Mokokchung, May 18 (EMN): The Ao Senden on Tuesday appealed to the Nagaland government to extend the total lockdown till the Covid-19 surge and casualties return to normalcy as well as provide financial assistance to all the district task forces.
In a representation to the chief minister, the Ao Senden acknowledged and appreciated the concerted effort of the state government, along with the paramount sacrifices put in by the frontline workers under his leadership to contain the spread of dreaded Covid-19 in the state.
However, Ao Senden observed that due to the rapid increase in Covid-19 positive cases and casualties each passing day, ‘community spread was endangering the lives of the people in the state’.
Therefore, in order to break the chain of community spreading and in the larger interest and safety of the people of Nagaland, the Ao Senden has appealed for extension of lockdown till the situation ‘returns to normalcy’.
