ANPSA units conduct literary competitions

Dimapur, Aug. 28 (EMN): Dimapur unit of the All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA) organised a district level literary competitions (quiz and extempore speech) on August 26.

An update from ANPSA stated that more than 700 students, teacher representatives and board members from 18 schools have participated in the competition.

It stated that Rev. Fr. Philip Y, principal of Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, delivered the welcome address as convenor, while Neena Dutta, ANPSA treasurer and principal of St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, delivered the vote of thanks.

In the quiz competition, Manchem Chang and Shahida Sultana from St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School secured the first position, while Elijah Ronren Kikon and Debashree Hazarika from Pilgrim Higher Secondary School, secured the second position.

In the extempore speech competition, Nomrita Mech from St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School secured the first position, while Amina Begum from MGM Higher Secondary School secured the second position and Imrongtula Jamir from Pilgrim Higher Secondary School secured the third position.

Report stated that winners of the competitions were awarded with trophies and certificates. It further informed that the winners would participate at the state level competition to be held in Kohima.

In a related programme, ANPSA Chümoukedima unit also conducted the first district-level literary competition (quiz and extempore speech) on August 27 at Great Commission Higher Secondary School, Naga United Village, with Nini Sekhose, president of ANPSA Central, as the special guest.

Altogether, 18 schools have participated in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the special guest has highlighted on women empowerment and social media, the main topics of extempore speech competition. The students were apprised on friendships which are important during adolescence and throughout life.

Bendangchuba, president of ANPSA Chümoukedima, has emphasised on the motto of ANPSA “Towards excellence.”

In the quiz competition, Ansh Singh and Santosh Nayak from Agape Higher Secondary School secured the first position, while Shapong Konyak and Helena Maria from Little Flower High School secured the second position and Ann Maria PS and Lodeno Yanthan from St. John’s School, Diphupar-B secured the third position.

In the extempore speech competition, Likumsu Yeptho from Rincho Academy secured the first position, while Sneha Das from Little Flower High School secured the second position and Inalito Achumi from Rincho Academy secured the third position. The winners of both quiz and extempore speech competitions were awarded with certificates and cash prizes.

Consolation prizes were awarded to Lanyami Kasar from Patkai Higher Secondary School and Mhethowe-u Khutso from St. John’s School, Diphupar-B.
