ANPSA Dimapur unit annual sports meet underway
DIMAPUR — The annual sports meet 2023 of the All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), Dimapur unit, commenced on Friday at Don Bosco HSS ground.
A total of 18 schools are participating in the sports event, which will culminate on Nov. 11.
Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie, the chief guest of the inaugural programme, in his address, said that learning is not just about bookish knowledge but also about character building and how the teachers bring up the students.
The police officer also pointed out that addiction to computers and mobile phones is very prevalent among the students which, he said, is doing more harm than good.
Sophie advised the students to avoid spending their free time on mobile and computers, or else they will not be able to concentrate on their studies.
Further, he emphasised how the usage of drugs is increasing in the state and advised the students to be aware of it.
President of ANPSA, Dimapur unit, Andrew Ahoto, shared that the sports events display unity and that, in the long run, winning is not the main goal.
