Annual fest kicked off in Capital College

Students of Capital College of Higher Education perform a song during the inaugural function of the college fest in Kohima on Thursday.

DIMAPUR — Capital College of Higher Education (CCHE) began its annual college fest on the theme “Trifecta” at Sahitya Sabha Hall, PR Hill, Kohima, on Thursday, with Vezuhu Keyho, chairman, governing body of CCHE, as the special guest.

According to an update, in the inaugural session, assistant professor of the department of English, Wangshimongla, chaired the programme, and the college fest commenced with a prayer led by Tatongkala L Lohe, dean of students, CCHE.

The inaugural address of the fest was delivered by Vevohu Kezo, vice principal, CCHE, and the special guest, Keyho, exhorted the students.

On day one of the fest, events such as a choral competition on the college anthem, screening of snip shots and monologues, debate, extempore speech, poetry recitation, essay writing, photography, painting, and translation were held.

In the debate competition, Thejoto Nienu, journalist, Eastern Mirror, was the moderator, where he shared his insights on the debate topic, “Artificial Intelligence (AI): A Blessing or a Curse.”

The three-day college fest will conclude on October 5.
