To celebrate the 15th Edition of Chavan Kumhrin festival of Anal Naga Tribe, the Anal Naga Union (ANU) , Delhi Organised a number of activities which included cultural activities like dance , singing and entertainment session.
A press note issued by one of the organisers mentions that with an initiative to promote Naga culture through fashion , the Delhi Fashion Club (DFC) in collaboration with ANU presented the 1st Edition of “Anal Naga Fashion Fest” which is said to be a part of series of events aiming to promote North East in Delhi.
The initiative undertaken by DFC is said to have been appreciated by Ministry of Home Affair , Government of India.
Further the release mentions that the show beautifully showcased the richness of the culture of Anal Naga in particular and the Nagas in general.
The designs were said to be an amalgamation of western silhouettes beautifully paired with Naga cultural accessories.
With motto, “Self employment and Women empowerment in Northeast Youth In Delhi” , the show is said to have been choreographed and directed by DFC- Northeast wing Tokila Sinruwng and Harshit Dhingaun.
The Showstopper for the evening as mentioned in the release was an International Model Pooja Bhasin. Other models include Elizabeth Kamei , Ena Dolsen , Richa and Karishma. Make up by Moutrisha Sengupta and Kanika, hairstyle by Sonam Dolma while the show is said to have been supported by DFC Senior Advisor Ratnadeep Lal , Chairman , IIFT ( International Institute of Fashion Technology ). DFC team in the release announced that such event is just a start of series of events for promoting Northeast culture in Delhi. Harshit Dhingaun , Chairman of DFC in the release mentioned, “ soon we are going to start skill development workshops for Northeast youth in Delhi with support of IIFT ( International Institute of Fashion Technology ) in field of make-up , fashion and Creativity.
The Anal Nagas has had many fests but a few of them continues, amongst them ‘Chavan Kumhrin’ festival is the only fest which has attained popularity and become tribe’s mere great fest in a modern era.
