DIMAPUR — An anaemia screening camp was organised by the Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with the Department of Health and Family Welfare under the aegis of ‘Poshan Maah’ in Chessore town on Monday.
According to an update, a short programme was held before the screening camp, during which the medical officer of Primary Health Centre (PHC) Chessore, Dr. Kumrimong T Yimchunger, talked about anaemia, menstrual hygiene, dietary habits to prevent anaemia, peer pressure in adolescents, and the dangers of teenage pregnancy.
Altogether, 47 anaemia screenings were conducted, and iron folic acid tablets and calcium tablets were distributed during the camp. The programme was attended by the staff of the PHC, the Department of Social Welfare, ASHAs, and school students.
