DIMAPUR — A three-day Amrit Yuva Kalotsav, a festival of music dance and drama, concluded on August 3 at Rangapahar Military Station in Dimapur.
The event was organised to commemorate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav under the aegis of Sangeet Natak Akademi, national academy of music, dance and drama, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
A defence release issued by the PRO (Defence) stated that the event showcased a myriad of traditional art and cultural forms of the Northeast including music, plays, and theatrical drama.
The last day of the event witnessed Kathak performance by the Banaras Hindu University and a Manipuri play.
It mentioned that the event was inaugurated on August 1 by Nagaland Governor, La. Ganesan, in the presence of Spear Corps Commander, Lt. Gen. Harjeet Singh Sahi, and vice chairman of Sangeet Natak Akademi, Joravarsinh Yadav.
It stated that the kaleidoscope of magnificent performances enraptured the audience and the exquisite moments united one and all in awe and inspiration, regardless of caste, creed, religion and gender.
